Work, Play And Repeat At Commune Coworks In Koramangala
Roshni Jacob

Ten-Second Takeaway
Koramangala’s all-new Commune Coworks steers away from regular co-working spots with theme-based floors, cosy nooks and a funky design-led space.
Work Made Fun
Going by Koramangala’s popularity as the startup hub of the city, a new co-working space in the hood might not sound very surprising. But Commune Coworks’s recently-opened spot hopes to redefine the concept and how! A workspace spread across four floors, it has a “classic meets funky” design that sets it apart from regular office spaces. Go ahead and take a break from that boring cubicle! To make it all the more interesting, the highlight of the space is that each floor is designed according to a theme.
Theme Work
As a nod to cafes which are popular alternate workspaces, the first floor is done up with a Cafe theme. A cosy lounge area with sofas and bean bags, work spots and casual vibes make up the space. Expect structures of mesh and steel to complement the Workshop theme on the second floor. While the Studio theme on the third floor hopes to be a more creative space, the fourth floor {Terrace} is where you’ll get to enjoy a view while working away. Being a common area, it will also have hammocks and cane seats along with a cafeteria. The basement has a garage theme and it also doubles up as an event space.
Get Working
Apart from hot desks and dedicated desks with lockers, you get to pick from cabins {three-seaters to a 13-seater room with a whiteboard-style wall} for bigger teams. What we love are the ‘nooks’ {four on each floor} — window alcoves set up with a comfy sofa and cushions, so you get to have your own corner. Meeting rooms, informal meetup spots and exclusive Skype conference room are the highlights. Head to their well-equipped pantry {on each floor} if you’re longing for a cuppa to get you charged up in the morning. All work and no play stressing you out? They have games on every floor {think foosball tables, pool tables and dartboards} for you to unwind. Or, just step out for a filling lunch, or drinks post-work {it is located near Jyoti Nivas College, after all}.
